If you are a collector of StarWars toys, a parent looking for a perfect gift for your children, or just a Star Wars movie fan who wants to decorate his desk with a cool action figure or statue of your favorite Star Wars character, you might be interested in the most recent or upcoming releases of new Star Wars toys, figures, vehicle or other collectible items.

As an avid collector, I'm constantly looking for new interesting items, so I'd like to share some of my latest discoveries with you.

New Clone Star Wars figures and vehicles by Hasbro

Since the Clone Wars TV series is quite popular among the fans, so are the related Clone Wars toys. So what can we expect in near future?

First of all, there are some really cool new 3 3/4-inch scale vehicle packs (wave 6) scheduled to be released before the end of 2009. They include some really nice pieces like General Grievous Starfighter, AAT Trade Federation Tank, Obi-Wan's Delta 2 Starfighter, Darth Vader's TIE Fighter and others. If you buy them as gifts for your children, they will sure like the special action features, like firing rockets etc.

Later on, in January 2010, there should be a new release of Deluxe 3 3/4-inch scale Star Wars figurines sets (action figure + matching vehicle). You can look forward to Anakin Skywalker Desert Sport Skiff, Clone Commander Cody with BARC Speeder and my favorite Clone Trooper Scout with AT-RT Vehicle, to name just a few.

New LEGO Star Wars Toys

The LEGO construction sets are definitely among the most popular toys so every new release is eagerly awaited by the movie fans and especially by their children. The most recent additions include LEGO 8036 Separatists Shuttle (with 5 really cool mini figures), LEGO 8038 Endor Battle Playset (with opening bunker, walking AT-ST, 12 figures, and more) and LEGO Clone Walker and Assassin Droid Set including bonus figures in each box.

Of course, there are many companies constantly releasing new StarWars figures and toys, so I just picked the ones I find most interesting at the moment. I'm also looking on other types of Star wars merchandise, like lightsabers, blasters, helmets and other replicas, but I think these specific items deserve a separate article, which will hopefully be published very soon.

Lego Star Wars Figures - Who Are They?

The Lego Star Wars figures included in the games will be familiar to anyone who has ever seen the movies or TV shows.

Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Obi Wan Kenobi are all included with the Millennium Falcon set but can all be bought separately along with many others.

Darth Vader: Darth Vader is one of the main characters in the Star Wars Saga and was depicted as being on the dark side of the Force until the very last movie when he sacrificed himself to save Luke. He was born Anakin Skywalker and is the father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa.

The Lego figure has an evil face, a detailed body with a cape and removable helmet as well as the inevitable red lightsaber.

Luke Skywalker: Luke Skywalker is the son of Darth Vader and legendary Jedi who helped vanquish the Galactic Empire in the Galactic Civil War.

The Lego version is one inch high with flesh coloured hands and head and a black Jedi outfit. His weapon is a trangreen lightsaber.

Princess Leia Organa: One of the main protagonists in the original trilogy, Princess Leia is discovered to be Luke Skywalker's twin sister and graduates to Princess of Alderaan and a member of the Imperial Senate in the fourth movie.

There are two Lego Star Wars figures of Princess Leia available; one dressed in a white suit with brown hair and her own blaster, the other is the slave Leia with pale flesh and a metal bikini

Han Solo: This character was actually a human who was born in Corellia and became famous in the Galaxy as a member of the Rebel Alliance.

Again there are two different Lego figures of Han Solo; one wearing brown trousers and one wearing blue. Both have a blaster.

Chewbacca: This legendary character was a wise and loyal Wookiee and co-piloted Han Solo's ship. He was very technologically astute and an expert mechanic.

The Chewbacca figure comes with a crossbow.

Obi Wan Kenobi: This character first appears as an mysterious hermit called Ben Kenobi but turns out to be an exiled Jedi knight.

Lego offer three different Obi Wan Kenobis, the only differences being the shade of yellow/green of his outfit and that one comes with a silver lightsaber.

Other Lego Star Wars figures available are an Imperial Royal guard with Force pike, C-3PO, a scout trooper, Yoda, Ahsoka, Boba Fett, Paploo, Count Dooku, R2-D2, Mace Windu, General Grievous, Admiral Akbar, a Bomb Squad trooper, a snow trooper, Chancellor Palpatine, Senator Onaconda Farr a battle droid and various different Clone troopers so there are loads to collect.

Lego Star Wars Review - Set 7675 - AT-TE Walker

The Star Wars Lego set 7675, the AT-TE walker is the second time Lego has produced this particular star Wars vehicle. The first version, set 4482, came out in 2003 a year after the release of Star Wars Episode Two Attack Of The Clones. It is featured in that movie and in the Star Wars Clone Wars television series, from which this latest Lego incarnation of the vehicle has been taken.

The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer is a walker that was developed to support the Grand Army of the republic and became the precursor to later walkers including the AT-AT. Lego's version of the walker is impressive and comes with a STAP vehicle that the separatist battle droids rode in the Clone Wars movie to battle AT-TE walkers on Teth.

The walker model measures 15' 1/2" (39cm) long and 8" (20cm) high and playable features include positionable legs that spring back to position, movable cannons, firing missiles, armored hatches and cockpit that open to reveal the cabin and troop bay inside.

The top panels lift up and troopers can sit inside while the cockpit can be opened to place in a single figure. Another gunner can sit on the top to rotate the cannon and behind him there is a small handle that can be used to pick up the vehicle or attach it to the Dropship (set 10195).

The minifigures include Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano, Jabba The Hutt's son Rotta, Clone Captain Rex, a regular clone and a battle droid. The Commander Rex is exclusive and has not appeared in a set since.

While not quite as playable as the Republic Gunship it has a lot of character and young fans will enjoy replicating the scenes from the TV series. It looks good as a display model and will fit well into battle scenes and dioramas.
